Meaning

The min-height property defines the minimum height a region may reduce to if it is relatively sized and the browser window is adjusted.

Note: The element's height is set to the value of min-height whenever min-height is larger than max-height or height.

Property Values

The following table describes the values of this property.

Value Description
auto The browser will calculate and select a min-height for the specified element.
length Default value is 0. Specifies the minimum height in px, cm, etc.
%(percentage) Specifies the minimum height in percent of the containing block.
initial Sets this property to its default value.
inherit If specified, the associated element takes the computed value of its parent element animation-delay property.
revert Reverts the cascaded value of the property from its current value to the value the property
revert-layer Rollback styles to the ones specified in previous cascade layers.
unset Resets a property to its inherited value if the property naturally inherits from its parent, and to its initial value if not.
